A new survey from Reuters released this week shows President Biden’s approval rating falling to 40%, the lowest recorded by the international news agency.
“U.S. President Joe Biden’s public approval rating fell to a new low of 40% this week, a clear warning sign for his Democratic Party as it seeks to retain control of Congress in the Nov. 8 election, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll,” reports the global outlet.
“The national poll, conducted on March 21 and 22, found that 54% of Americans disapprove of his job performance as the country struggles with high inflation and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has pushed geopolitical concerns to the fore,” adds Reuters.
The data comes hours before Biden boards Air Force One to fly to Brussels, Belgium where he will hold high-level talks with leaders of NATO, the European Union, and the G-7.
The White House is expected to unveil new sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin as his invasion of Ukraine enters its second month.
