Election Officials in Pennsylvania warned residents of the commonwealth Thursday that election results for the 2022 midterms “could take days” to finalize.

Acting Secretary of the Commonwealth Leigh Chapman told NBC’s Chuck Todd it’s “hard to estimate” how long the process will take.

“Days, and it’s hard to estimate,” he said. “The best we can do is just manage expectations and let voters know that election officials need to do their job.”

It doesn’t mean ballots are showing up out of nowhere,” Chapman explained.

“It’s because of that restriction where we can’t start pre-processing or canvassing those votes until election morning,” she said.
