A major setback for the lockdown-loving left on Tuesday when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis asked for a grand jury investigation of “crimes and wrongdoing committed against Floridians related to the COVID-19 vaccine” which would circumvent the CDC’s call to “assess” federal health recommendations and guidelines.
DeSantis announced “In Florida, you know, it is against the law to mislead and misrepresent when you talk about the efficacy of the drug. So today, I am announcing a petition with the Supreme Court of Florida to impanel a statewide grand jury to investigate any and all wrongdoing in Florida with respect to COVID-19 vaccines.”
The Governor held a roundtable discussion with physicians, researchers and victims “of adverse events from mRNA vaccines,” where he would take “aggressive actions to hold the federal government and Big Pharma accountable.” He also ordered the creation of a Public Health Integrity Committee which “will be overseen by the Surgeon General to assess federal public health recommendations and guidance to ensure that Florida’s public health policies are tailored for Florida’s communities and priorities.”
At the roundtable event, DeSantis spoke openly of his distrust of the highly politicized CDC. “Our CDC, at this point, anything they put out, you just assume, at this point, that it’s not worth the paper that it’s printed on. It’s not serving a useful function. It’s really serving to advance narratives.”
“We’ve seen over the past few years, really, the bankruptcy of the public health establishment,” he said. “We’ve seen a lot of ridiculous partisanship. I mean I’ll never forget that after hectoring people in April of 2020 – you can’t leave your house. They were all upset at Florida because people were on the beach and playing golf and all this stuff — that if you left your house, you were almost like a bad person until you started to have George Floyd protests.”
The Governor also recalled the large protests during the lockdown, “these public health people wrote a letter, where like hundreds maybe thousands of them signed, saying ‘yes we don’t think you should be leaving your house normally, but we endorse the protests.’”
“If that doesn’t just go to show this is all just a huge political farce, I don’t know what it is,” he said. “…I think you’ve continued to see people in these bureaucracies and in this establishment behave in ways that have totally squandered any type of confidence or goodwill that people would have.”
DeSantis also took aim at the Biden Administration in a press release claiming, “The Biden Administration and pharmaceutical corporations continue to push widespread distribution of mRNA vaccines on the public, including children as young as 6 months old, through relentless propaganda while ignoring real-life adverse events. At today’s roundtable the Governor and health experts discussed data covering serious adverse events. These risks include coagulation disorders, acute cardiac injuries, Bell’s palsy, encephalitis, appendicitis, and shingles.”
The release also reiterated the fact that Big Pharma and the FDA “have refused to release patient-level data for independent researchers. The COVID-19 vaccines produced by Pfizer and Moderna have received FDA approval for pediatric and adult patients and continue to be marketed as safe and effective, even though the vaccines do not prevent transmission and adverse events have been minimized and disregarded by the Biden Administration and Big Pharma.”
