During an interview on “Fox & Friends,” House Speaker Kevin McCarthy declared that the Republicans have decided to bring impeachment proceedings against the sitting Attorney General of the United States, Merrick Garland, after hearing damning testimony from an IRS whistleblower who claimed he directly interfered in the investigation of President Biden’s son, Hunter.

The whistleblower who came forward is a 14-year veteran of the IRS, Criminal Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley Jr. and recently testified under oath before Congress that Hunter Biden received preferential treatment in regards to the investigation into his tax affairs and false gun permit application.

Shapely testified about a message sent in WhatsApp, from Hunter Biden on July 30, 2017 to a Chinese Communist Party official, Henry Zhao, where the message abruptly threatened him and that he must follow his “orders” or else, claiming that his father Joe Biden was sitting next to him in the room.  This message was brought to the attention of the DOJ prosecutors by Shapely and they willingly ignored his concerns and possibly obstructed justice in the process.

The Speaker decided that US Attorney David Weiss must appear before Congress in the House Judiciary Committee to explain this conduct.

McCarthy clarified that if the whistleblower testimony allegations checks out, he will initiate impeachment hearings by July 6th against the Attorney General Merrick Garland.

“By July 6, because of the allegations by the IRS, because of the whistleblower, and the DOJ – Garland – what he is saying and what David Weiss is saying privately are two different things,” McCarthy said during the interview. “And if it comes true what the IRS whistleblower is saying, we’re going to start impeachment inquiries on the attorney general.”

He also noted, “What’s interesting is the IRS whistleblower that has no political background, took copious notes, can tell you the date, can tell you the people in the meeting.”
