“You were triggered, like I was, by a Gillette commercial, correct?” asked Joe Pags.
“It was the straw that broke the camel’s back. There was a trend to talk about toxic masculinity. Things have escalated tremendously since then,” explained Ilan.
“If society allows its men to fall apart, there are going to be repercussions,” he added. “We’ve inverted the virtues that allow a society to function. Things like courage, fortitude, strength, moderation are all discouraged.”
“You look at things like fear, we place that as a virtue. The opposite should be true,” said the actor.
