Major immigration legislation has passed the Texas House of Representatives in response to the overwhelming illegal migrant crisis at their southern border with Mexico which would empower Texas law enforcement officers to remove illegal immigrants back into Mexico.

Texas has experienced an overwhelming flood of illegal immigrants into their state and Republican Gov. Greg Abbott and the Republican-led state legislature have made it a priority to safeguard Texans.  Abbott began “Operation Lone Star” which include a broad range of initiatives and border security measures to stop illegal crossings because the federal government refuses to do their job.

After much debate in the Texas House, lawmakers approved new legislation in an 86 to 40 vote whereby law enforcement would have the power to remove illegal immigrants that crossed the southern border and return them to Mexico.  Texas has brought major attention to the immigration crisis by busing those migrants to major Democrat run cities and now will go a step further by doing the job of the federal government.  Normally federal law enforcement agencies have the power to remove illegal migrants from the country by way of a deportation order, but now, Texas will do the job the federal government is incapable of doing.

According to the newly proposed legislation, House Bill 4, it would make any illegal entry from Mexico into Texas a state crime and handled at a state level.

The bill was proposed by Republican state Rep. David Spiller and explained that Texas would “be able to work out” all issues of returning the illegal migrants with Mexico directly and said “there is nothing unfair about ordering someone back from where they came if they arrived here illegally.”

House Bill 6 was also voted on and passed 86 to 41 which would appropriate $1.5 billion for border security measures including a physical barrier between Mexico and Texas, continuing the work begun in August.  Currently 10 miles of Texas border wall have been constructed with new funding allowing for an additional 50 miles of wall.

The Texas Senate approved Senate Bill 4 which would significantly punish criminals who are found smuggling illegal immigrants into Texas as well as severe punishment for any involvement in “stash houses,” where illegal narcotics are stored after being smuggled across the border awaiting nationwide distribution with 10 years imprisonment.

Texas Democrats strongly opposed both bills claiming “they know it violates constitutional rights so they’re trying to cut us off on debate and on additional amendments to make sure that Texans are protected from white nationalists [and] xenophobic Nazi sympathizers,” said Democratic state Rep. Christina Morales in a bizarre post on X while another Democratic state Rep. Armando Lucio claimed the bills “hurt us to our f***ing core” he said while openly arguing with Republicans on the Texas House floor.
