Protesters demanding an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas interrupted a Senate hearing featuring Secretary of State Antony Blinken Tuesday afternoon.

“Ceasefire now! Save the children of Gaza, save the children of Gaza!” screamed one man.

“Not one senator is calling for a ceasefire, shame on you all!” yelled another.

“I resigned on that war in Iraq that you talked about. That was a terrible thing. And what we’re doing right now in supporting Israel’s genocide of Gaza is a terrible thing, too,” she said.

Blinken appeared on Capitol Hill requesting the Senate approve financial and military aid to both Israel and Ukraine.

“It will ensure that Israel can continue to defend its people by building on the diplomatic, security and intelligence support that the United States has surged since Hamas’s appalling slaughter,” he said.
