Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is visiting the United States to deliver a speech before a joint session of Congress and President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris removed all planned meetings with him.
Now that Biden has been toppled by a major Democratic coup, he has reportedly removed a planned meeting with the prime minister in which they were to discuss Israel’s war on the Hamas terror organization within Gaza.
Reporting has shown not only will the lame-duck president not sit down with the prime minister, the newly appointed figurehead of the Democratic Party Kamala Harris, will not preside over the joint session of Congress rather being replaced by Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Netanyahu arrived in Washington D.C. on Monday where both the president and vice president were noticeably absent.
Biden continues to remain in hiding at his beach house in Delaware because of an alleged COVID diagnosis but more likely to escape media attention after his decision to drop out of the presidential race.
The Biden administration claimed to be the most transparent administration in history, but the opposite couldn’t be more true as we wait the reasoning for his decision to quit.
According to the White House physician, Biden is doing well and he “continues to perform all of his presidential duties.”
Democrats haven’t hidden their contempt for the prime minister’s visit and upcoming speech. “I think having one of the most dramatic developments in modern politics over the last few days certainly is taking up a lot of mental space for people,” said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
AOC like Vice President Harris will also not attend Netanyahu’s address before Congress.
According to reporting from Politico, Netanyahu has requested a meeting with former President Donald Trump but it remains unclear whether that meeting will take place.
