Police have released new photos of two suspects accused of attacking and robbing a 66-year-old man in the Bronx, leaving him fatally injured before trying to steal from him as he lay injured on the ground, the New York Post reports.

According to authorities, the victim, Wesley James, was only a few steps from his home on East Tremont Avenue near Schley Avenue in Throggs Neck when two men approached around 10:30 a.m. on September 18. They reportedly punched him in the face, causing him to fall and hit his head. Despite seeing him seriously hurt, the attackers attempted to search his pockets before escaping without taking anything.

James was transported to Jacobi Medical Center, where his condition worsened over time. He died on November 3 from a brain injury caused by blunt force trauma, as noted on his death certificate issued February 4, police said.

The NYPD announced Monday that the case has been reclassified as a homicide and shared images of the two men, who remain at large. No arrests have been made.

At his November funeral, family members called for justice, urging police to find those responsible for the violent attack that claimed his life.

“I believe in the law,” his brother, Lelburn James, told News 12. “I want the law to catch these criminals and get them off the street, so this won’t happen to anybody else’s family.”
