Tensions ran high on Tuesday’s edition of The View after co-host Joy Behar sparked a bit of chaos by making a controversial comment about Jesus Christ, Mediaite reports. The discussion began with the panel dissecting President Donald Trump’s recent social media post featuring an image that appeared to depict him as a Christian savior, which he later deleted. Behar jumped in with a strong opinion, claiming, “Jesus himself did not run around saying, ‘I’m the Messiah, I’m the Messiah.’”

Her remark drew immediate pushback. Alyssa Farah Griffin groaned, “Ehhhhh,” as Sara Haines jumped in, reminding Behar that, according to Scripture, Jesus directly said, “I’m the Messiah!”

The studio audience erupted with laughter while the panelists piled on, talking over one another in disbelief.

Behar, unfazed, doubled down: “No, he did not! Jesus was not narcissistic like this guy.” Haines countered sharply, “When you’re actually the Messiah, it’s not narcissism to say it!” The back-and-forth escalated with Haines repeatedly pressing Behar, who insisted, “Yes, it is.”

Finally, Whoopi Goldberg stepped in to end the tense exchange, “I’m going to move this along because this is like-, it’s too much for me.”

The president refuted allegations that the image he posted depicts him in the likeness of Christ. “I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor — and, had to do with Red Cross, as a Red Cross worker there, which we support,” Trump explained on Monday. “And only the fake news could come up with that one. So I just heard about it, and I said, ‘How do they come up with that?’ It’s supposed to be me as a doctor making people better, and I do make people better. I make people a lot better.”
