First Lady Melania Trump has had enough with the nonsense from late-night host Jimmy Kimmel following a monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in which he remarked that she had “a glow like an expectant widow.” She labeled Kimmel a “coward,” described his comments as divisive, and urged ABC to respond.
Posting on X from the official First Lady account, Melania Trump wrote: “Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy — his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.”
“People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate,” Mrs. Trump added. “A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him.”
The first lady’s zero-tolerance didn’t stop there, and she addressed ABC’s parent company, Disney: “Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community,”
The broadcast aired just days before the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C., where 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen allegedly forced his way through a magnetometer, shot a Secret Service agent, and was later taken into custody.
Breitbart News reports Allen had allegedly donated $25 to ActBlue, a Democratic fundraising platform, designated for Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. A senior Trump administration official said Allen authored a manifesto outlining plans to target members of the Trump administration and had attended a left-wing “No Kings” protest. Fox News correspondent Jacqui Heinrich reported that Allen’s brother contacted authorities after receiving the alleged manifesto.
President Donald Trump later called the suspect “a sick guy” and described the incident as “a rather traumatic experience” for the first lady. Footage from the event showed Secret Service agents quickly surrounding the president and first lady after gunfire was heard, with attendees shouting “Get down!” before they were escorted away. The event was subsequently canceled.
