President Biden’s staff at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is working overtime these days “clarifying” Joe’s remarks. This time, they snapped into action to smooth over Biden’s comments on COVID during a call with the nation’s governors.
Here’s the Biden Blunder™ from earlier this week while discussing COVID with Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson:
“One word of concern or encouragement for your team is that as you look towards federal solutions that will help alleviate the challenge, make sure that we do not let federal solutions stand in the way of state solutions,” Arkansas Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson said to Biden. “The production of 500 million rapid tests that will be distributed by the federal government is great, but obviously that dries up the supply chain for the solutions that we might offer as governor.”
“There is no federal solution. This gets solved at the state level,” Biden responded.
Not the best sound byte for Joe; the equivalent of ‘you’re on your own.’ The White House snapped into (Twitter) action to remind everyone (on Twitter) that the Biden administration has done, at least, a few things for local governments in the fight against COVID.
“The Biden-Harris Administration is making sure states have what they need to tackle COVID including: – 1,000 additional doctors and nurses – stockpiling millions of gowns, gloves, masks, and ventilators – adding vaccine and booster capacity,” the White House tweeted. “And more.”

Not exactly reassuring. Joe Biden 2021: a far cry from 2020 Joe who claimed he’d “shut down the virus.”
