It’s not April, but whichever staff member handles president Biden’s Twitter account seems to think Wednesday was April Fool’s Day. President Biden’s tweet read:
“We’re ending 2021 with what one analyst described as the strongest first-year economic track record of any president in the last 50 years. Let’s keep the progress going.”

Please don’t. America cannot handle more of your “progress.” And furthermore, who is the “one analyst?” As if the delusional tweet wasn’t absurd enough, it was published on the same day the Commerce Department released “a dismal trade deficit report.”
Breitbart News reports, “on the same day, the Commerce Department released a dismal trade deficit report showing the gap between the cost of imported goods exceeded the value of exported at a record high and would likely continue for the duration of the coronavirus pandemic.”
Economist Peter Schiff determined the report shows the U.S. economy “has never been weaker.” Schiff tweeted:
“The Nov. U.S. merchandise trade deficit surged to $97.8 billion, a new all-time record high. The deficit shattered expectations of $86 billion, and is a 17.5% higher than the prior month. This horrific data proves the U.S. economy is a complete disaster. It has never been weaker!”
Biden also made a second profoundly incorrect announcement Wednesday. Biden also tweeted about his passage of the infrastructure bill, touting himself as a sort of hero of the working class.
Even CNBC shot the president down, noting that the record-high inflation rates have further widened the gap between the rich and poor because lower-income “households bear the brunt of rising prices.”
