President Joe Biden is facing questions on whether or not he would preemptively pardon President-elect Donald Trump's political rivals so Trump couldn't bring forth charges.
Radio host Charlamagne Tha God urged President Biden to use caution when going down the rabbit hole of preemptive pardoning. According to former President Bill Clinton, he would not want to see Biden preemptively pardon Hillary Clinton or any of Trump's "enemies" which Charlamagne agreed with, arguing that if Biden were to preemptively pardon anyone it would create an automatic response of implied guilt.

“I agree with everything Clinton said. You know, I agree Trump won fair and square. It is what it is. And I don’t think President Biden should do preemptive pardons either. Makes people look guilty if you ask me,” the host said. “Biden should be pardoning all the nonviolent drug offenders in federal prison. He should be pardoning everybody in federal prison for nonviolent weed convictions, okay? He should be pardoning [former Baltimore City State’s Attorney] Marilyn Mosby. Those are the pardons he should be working on before he gets his old ass up out of here.”
On Thursday, the White House issued 39 pardons for those convicted on nonviolent crimes and granted clemency to 1,500 people who faced home confinement.
Charlamagne's co-host DJ Envy believed that Trump would seek revenge on his political opponents or those who "tried to get him locked up." Charlamagne reiterated, “Why would I be pardoning you if you don’t have any crimes connected to you? Don’t that make you look guilty if I give you a preemptive pardon?”
DJ Envy believed that Americans would perceive the pardons protections from Trump's potential revenge. “Or it could mean Trump knows something that we don’t know, and that’s why he’s going after these people,” Charlamagne responded. “I just don’t understand why you would give somebody a preemptive pardon. Like it just feels like you saying, ‘Okay, I know this person is guilty of something, and Trump may go after them.’”
“‘Cause he said for the last couple of years he’s going to be going at them,” Envy replied quickly.
Charlamagne sharply disagreed saying, “It just seems strange to do preemptive pardons if you ask me. But what do I know? I try to stay out of white people business.”
Vice President Kamala Harris and many Democrats insisted that Trump would seek revenge on his political "enemies" but during a recent interview on "Meet the Press," President-elect Trump defined revenge as any "retribution will be through success."
