Former President Donald Trump first ran on the idea that the deep state really controlled Washington and he was going to fix it. After his time as President, he truly understands how complicated the problem is and has recently unveiled plans on how to "dismantle the deep state" beginning by firing "rogue" bureaucrats and politicians that make it their career instead of serving their constituents.
In a newly released policy agenda video, Trump gave a list of ten ways he plans to "clean out the deep state" beginning with an executive order allowing Presidents to fire bureaucrats. The "Washington Swamp" is full of federal bureaucrats and politicians and Trump's plan would target corruption and swiftly hold those people accountable.
“The departments and agencies that have been weaponized will be completely overhauled so that faceless bureaucrats will never again be able to target and persecute conservatives, Christians, or the left’s political enemies, which they’re doing now at a level that nobody can believe even possible," said the former President.
In an effort to root out corruption, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court would be required to to create a Truth and Reconciliation Commission which would “declassify and publish all documents on Deep State spying, censorship and corruption.”
Trump promised to hold those in government accountable who worked with the media to create "false narratives" with possible criminal charges as a result, relying on the Inspector General Offices to act independently holding them accountable.
“I will ask Congress to establish an independent auditing system to continually monitor our intelligence agencies to ensure they are not spying on our citizens or running disinformation campaigns against the American people, or that they are not spying on someone’s campaign like they spied on my campaign,” Trump said in the video.
According to the video, Trump would move departments of the bureaucracy outside of Washington to ensure a variety of talent besides those based solely in the swamp.
Trump also said he would not allow federal bureaucrats to seek employment in companies in which they regulate or have business dealings on a regular basis, citing "Big Pharma" as a main example. He also expressed a strong desire to impose term limits on congress so that the career politician is a thing of the past.
“I will shatter the Deep State, and restore a government that is controlled by the People,” the former President said concluding his plans.
