Not only are citizens of liberal-led cities forced to be increasingly on the defensive as crimes continue to rise at a fast pace, now they are also insulted. The U.S. murder rate rose during the pandemic at 30% between 2019 and 2020 according to FBI data. Yet still, “at least 12 major cities, including New York have already set historical murder records in 2021” reports Fox News.

“Robberies and assaults are also on the rise, and retailers across the country are reporting an uptick in organized smash-and-grab crimes during the busy holiday shopping season.” But it’s not just assaults on the rise, it’s also insults.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is in hot water after blaming retailers for being the victims of robbery and crime. “We also got to push retailers,” said Lightfoot. She wants to defund the police and now we understand why. She and her administration do not want to pay for security; she wants the cost to fall directly on the citizens. A bit hypocritical considering taxpayers are paying for her 24/7 security.

“I’m disappointed that they are not doing more to take safety and make it a priority. For example, we still have retailers that won’t institute plans like having security officers in their stores, making sure that they’ve got cameras that are actually operational, locking up their merchandise t night Chaining high-end bags, these purses seem to be something that is attracting a lo0t of attention on these organized retail theft units.”

Philadelphia has reported a 13% increase in homicides in 2021 compared to 2020, yet D.A. Larry Krasner claimed a crime problem doesn’t exist. “We don’t have a crisis of lawlessness, we don’t have a crisis of crime, we don’t have a crisis of violence,” Krasner told reporters on Monday. “It’s important that we don’t let this become mushy and bleed into the notion that there is some kind of big spike in crime. There isn’t. There is not a big spike in crime…There is not a big spike in violent crime. Neither one of these things is true” he said. Not sure where Krasner is living, but it’s nowhere near Philly.

Flat-out denial is no stranger to these leaders. Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon also recently came under fire when he said at a press conference last week that those who blame his zero-bail policies for the increase in crime are nothing more than “fearmongering and misinformation.”
