FBI Director Kash Patel and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem are ramping up efforts to combat the growing trend of swatting attacks against conservative media figures. Noem vowed to use federal resources to track and prosecute those responsible, calling swatting a direct attack on law enforcement and innocent families.

“Under President Trump’s leadership, we will not sit idly by while conservative media and their families are targeted by swatting attacks,” Noem stated. “DHS has the capability to trace these calls and track down those responsible. We will use it to hunt these cowards down.”

Swatting involves making false emergency calls to provoke an armed law enforcement response, often leading to dangerous encounters. The tactic has been used against several high-profile conservatives, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and media personalities. Earlier this month, Joe Pags was swatted at his home in the middle of the night. “They’re targeting anyone who’s a conservative,” Pags warned, emphasizing that these attacks are designed to silence voices on the right.

Lawmakers are now pushing for harsher penalties for swatting, with proposals to classify it as domestic terrorism or even attempted murder. Republicans argue that the practice is not only a threat to free speech but also endangers officers and innocent victims.

FBI Director Kash Patel addressed the rising wave of swatting attacks targeting conservative media figures, vowing swift action against those responsible.

“I want to address the alarming rise in swatting incidents targeting media figures. The FBI is fully aware of this dangerous trend, and my team and I are actively investigating to hold those responsible accountable," Patel stated.

He emphasized that the issue goes beyond politics, calling it a direct threat to public safety. "Weaponizing law enforcement against ANY American is not only morally reprehensible but also endangers lives, including those of our officers. That will not be tolerated."

Patel reaffirmed the FBI’s commitment to working with local law enforcement to track and prosecute offenders. "We are fully committed to cracking down on these crimes, and those responsible will face consequences,” he warned. “More updates to come.”

As law enforcement intensifies its crackdown, officials warn that those engaging in swatting should expect severe consequences. The administration’s message is clear: targeting conservatives through these dangerous tactics will not be tolerated.
