Country music duo Jordan and Seth Dugger—better known as the Dugger Band—joined Joe Pags to share the story of how they were recently canceled by a local Tennessee news station for being “too politically biased.” The offense? A patriotic song titled “True Colors” that celebrates their love for America.
Invited to perform on a morning show segment, the brothers were asked to change their song choice after producers heard it. When they refused, their appearance was pulled entirely. “That didn’t sit well with us,” they told Pags.
“We wrote this song with patriotism in mind,” they said. “There’s nothing more that we love than America, red, white and blue!”
Their message was simple, they explained: “I don’t see how saying I love America is offensive.”
The conversation quickly turned into a fun and lively discussion about family harmonies, the joy of making music together, and their deep appreciation for freedom and faith. The brothers joked about their different vocal ranges—one higher, one lower—and how their sibling bond adds to their sound. “It works for us,” they said, when asked about harmonizing as brothers.
Despite the attempt to silence them, Jordan and Seth are louder and prouder than ever—still singing “True Colors,” the song they refused to change, and still standing up for what they believe in.
