Florida’s Republican Governor, Ron DeSantis, has been trying to manage hurricane response and damages from the first storm with a second larger storm only days away and Kamala Harris decides to play politics instead of focusing on helping Americans during a time of crisis.

President Biden decided not to criticize the Florida governor and instead praised his efforts for the storm response.  Harris accused the governor of “political gamesmanship” because he didn’t take her phone calls.  Why?  She has absolutely no role to play in this effort, DeSantis is in contact with the President, multiple federal agencies and managing all state and local responses and doesn’t have time to play Kamala Harris’ game of scoring political points.

Watch:

“The governor of Florida has been cooperative. He said he’s gotten all that he needs. I talked to him again yesterday and I said, ‘No, you’re doing a great job. It’s being, all being done well. We thank you for it,’ and I literally gave him my personal phone number to call,” Biden said during the press conference. “Every governor, every governor from Florida to North Carolina has been fully cooperative and supportive and acknowledged what this team is doing. And they’re doing an incredible job. We’ve got a lot more to do.”

DeSantis told the media his response to Harris’ claims of ‘political gamesmanship’:

“We’ve been laser-focused on leveraging all resources available, including from the federal government. And I’ve been in touch with both FEMA and the president, as well as marshaling all our state agencies, and working to support our local communities,” he said. “And so for Kamala Harris to try to say that my sole focus on the people of Florida is somehow selfish, is delusional.”

“She has no role in this. In fact, she’s been vice president for three-and-a-half years. I’ve dealt with a number of storms under this administration. She has never contributed anything to any of these efforts. And so what I think is selfish is her trying to blunder into this.”

Many pundits are starting to believe the underlying tension between Biden and Harris:
