Los Angeles has descended into chaos again—this time after ICE did its job. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), agents arrested a previously deported illegal alien who allegedly hurled a Molotov cocktail at law enforcement during violent riots on June 7. The suspect, Emiliano Garduno-Galvez, is now facing attempted murder charges.

Garduno-Galvez, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, wasn’t just loitering around. DHS says he has a rap sheet including a 2024 grand theft arrest and a DUI. Yet somehow, this is the kind of guy left-wing protesters are proudly defending. “These are the types of criminal illegal aliens that rioters are fighting to protect,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated.

As ICE swept through LA last weekend, arresting “hundreds of illegal aliens,” including ones charged with rape, robbery, and even second-degree murder, protesters responded with Molotov cocktails, fireworks, bricks, and chaos. Rioters vandalized LAPD headquarters, looted businesses, and injured officers. But DHS isn’t backing down.

“The Los Angeles rioters will not stop us or slow us down,” McLaughlin declared. “If you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

While ICE cleans house, LA leadership seems more concerned with optics than safety. DHS nailed it in their Sunday statement: “America’s brave ICE officers are removing the worst of the worst from LA’s streets, while LA’s leaders are working tirelessly against them.” A stark reminder of the disconnect between federal law enforcement and city leadership.
