The Kamala Harris campaign continues to describe her as a moderate but according to former Trump White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, she continues to back far-left policies no where near the middle.

CNN reported that Harris wants to follow her own political instincts over pollster’s advice but McEnany questioned the idea of rebranding herself as a moderate will actually work.

“We’ve seen little inklings of what her instincts are. Passing over [Democratic Pennsylvania Gov.] Josh Shapiro, economic plan of price controls, which has been widely panned as a poor idea,” McEnany said on Fox News. “Her instincts are gut progressive, but she’s trying to shield that with a moderate venire, will it work?”

Recent polling from ABC News/Washington Post show Trump ahead on five major issues with Harris leading the polls 49% to 45% nationwide.  On immigration, President Trump is ahead 46% to 36%, 46% to 37% on economic issues, 45% to 36% on handling the inflation crisis, 38% to 33% on his stance on the Israel-Hamas war and 42% to 39% on nationwide crime.

Harris proposed a “price-gouging” federal ban without much detail or way to implement the plan which speaks to what her campaign is about, promising the government will fix everything and providing no details.

“I’m reminded of Mario Cuomo where he said you campaign in poetry and you govern in prose. Well, prepare to overdose on poetry this week. That didn’t go well, so you are going to see poetry, broad strokes, paintings of lowering costs without much detail or footnote as to how to do that. It’s going to be grandiose, but it’s going to be broad. And this is where the debate is so important for Trump to nail down on specifics,” McEnany said during her interview with Fox News.

Axios reported Harris’ plans on distancing herself from Bidenomics in order to improve her poll numbers on the economy and inflation.  The Biden White House has already stated that she played a key role in Bidenomics and may be hard to play down.

“What I will tell you is Bidenomics has been something that both the president and the vice president has worked on,” Press Secretary Jean-Pierre said just a few days ago. “You guys have called it ‘Bidenomics,’ we talk about how the president is trying to put forward an economic policy building from the bottom-up, middle-out that does not leave behind the middle class and make sure it has equity at the center of it.”

Under Biden and Harris, inflation skyrocketed from 1.4% to a high of 9% in June 2022 which has effected all American’s negatively, especially when buying the necessary goods and services to support a family.
