Karine Jean-Pierre, once the public face of the Biden administration, is now turning the spotlight back on her former boss—with fire. In a shocking political twist, the former White House press secretary has officially ditched the Democratic Party and announced a new memoir titled Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines. Set for release in October, the book reportedly pulls no punches in criticizing both the Biden White House and the broader two-party system.
Jean-Pierre, who spent nearly three years defending Biden’s every move—including his many stumbles—now says she’s had enough. According to publisher Hachette, the former Biden and Obama staffer “takes us through the three weeks that led to Biden’s abandoning his bid for a second term and the betrayal by the Democratic Party that led to his decision.”
The irony is rich. Jean-Pierre famously claimed in 2022 that Biden had called on a deceased congresswoman because she was “top of mind,” and insisted just last summer that the President was “sharp as ever.” Now, she’s calling that White House “broken” and is preaching political independence.
Critics from her own party aren’t holding back. One Democratic insider told the press, “What her publisher means to tell readers is that she is INCOMPETENT, not independent.” Another said the move reeks of a cash grab, quipping that her colleagues were “cackling in chats all day.”
Jean-Pierre teased her book on Instagram by calling for less partisanship and more individuality. But to many in the party she once loyally served, her sudden pivot looks like an exit strategy wrapped in book deals and brand rehab.
For conservatives, this isn’t surprising—it’s confirmation. The same people who claimed everything was running smoothly are now admitting what America already knew: Biden’s White House is a mess, and even his own team wanted out.
