In a recent letter from Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, the Illinois Governor begged Abbott to stop sending illegal immigrants to Chicago.
If the goal is to actually stop illegal immigrants from being shipped to Chicago, why would the Governor of Illinois in the very beginning of the letter claim that these actions sole purpose is “to score political points?”
After telling the Texas Governor that his actions are political, Pritzker then begins his sob story of how the illegal immigrants who chose to come to Chicago, face an extremely cold winter in the self-proclaimed sanctuary city.
“You are now sending asylum seekers from Texas to the Upper Midwest in the middle of winter — many without coats, without shoes to protect them from the snow — to a city whose shelters are already overfilled with migrants you sent here,” Pritzker said in the letter.
“Chicago’s temperatures this weekend are forecast to drop below zero. Your callousness, sending buses and planes full of migrants in this weather, is now life-threatening to every one of the arrivals. Hundreds of children’s and families’ health and survival are at risk due to your actions,” it read.
Again, trying to change the mind of the Texas Governor might not work if you continue to talk trash, calling it a “political game of exploiting the most vulnerable for the sake of culture wars and talking points.”
“You seem to have no interest in working on bipartisan solutions to the border crisis because they would put an end to your cruel political game,” Pritzker wrote.
After all the trash talk and insults that the Illinois Governor wrote in the letter, he then gets to the point of the letter asking Abbott to stop shipping illegal immigrants to Chicago.
“I am writing to you today hoping to appeal to your humanity. Over the coming days, Illinois will experience a dangerous winter storm and subzero temperatures. I strongly urge you to stop sending people to Illinois in these conditions,” Pritzker wrote. “I plead with you for mercy for the thousands of people who are powerless to speak for themselves. Please, while winter is threatening vulnerable people’s lives, suspend your transports and do not send more people to our state.”
In response to this ridiculous letter, a spokesperson for Governor Abbott of Texas said “Instead of complaining about migrants sent from Texas, where we are also preparing to experience severe winter weather across the state, Governor Pritzker should call on his party leader to finally do his job and secure the border — something he continues refusing to do. Until President Biden steps up and does his job to secure the border, Texas will continue transporting migrants to sanctuary cities to help our local partners respond to this Biden-made crisis.”
Republican run border states should not be the only states incurring the hardships bought on by skyrocketing illegal immigration policies brought forth by horrible Biden administration leadership. The answer is simple, secure the border and return to the rule of law before any deals can be made.
