After the major victory for Trump on Super Tuesday, the Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell issued a statement that "should come as no surprise..."
Haley is out and Trump is the presumptive nominee for president for the Republican party. Trump smashed expectations with his victories in almost all states besides Vermont and the Republican Senate Leader had to acknowledge his support for the unofficial nominee.
“It is abundantly clear that former President Trump has earned the requisite support of Republican voters to be our nominee for President of the United States,” the statement from McConnell read after Haley announced the suspension of her campaign. “It should come as no surprise that as nominee, he will have my support.”
