Officials on Martha’s Vineyard -a deep blue precinct off the coast of Massachusetts- abruptly deported 50 illegal immigrants Friday roughly 24 hours after the Central Americans were dropped off by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

“If you have folks who are inclined to think Florida is a good place (to live), our message to them is we are not a sanctuary state, and it’s better to be able to go to a sanctuary jurisdiction,” DeSantis told a crowd of supporters. “And yes, we will help facilitate that transport for you to be able to go to greener pastures.”
“The minute even a small fraction of what those border towns deal with every day is brought to their front door, they go berserk, and they’re so upset that this is happening,” he said. “And it just shows you that their virtue-signaling is a fraud.”
He concluded: “Now, what would be best is for Biden to do his damn job and secure the border.”
Just another misleading headline and story without any context whatsoever. Desantis funded the transportation of these migrants from san antonio, tx to massachusetts, without any warning and while also possibly lying to them about what actually awaited them at the end of their journey. $615,000 to move these 50 people! That’s a cost of $12,300 per person that could have been spent to help these people! And he’s mad about student debt relief… Anyway, the state of massachusetts is not moving them out of state. The state is moving them to a facility better equipped to handle them. Just another republican practicing the politics of hate.
Here’s a better telling of the story:

Geez! Do you read your own comments? Love the dialog but Mr Baggs! “The state is moving them to a facility better equipped to handle them.”
What’s wrong with my wording? Is it inaccurate?
If I dropped off 50 people at your house, without any notice at all, would you be able to care for them all long-term? No. And neither did this community. They did their best to provide aid and comfort on short notice, and kept these migrants safe and fed for 2 days. Then the state of massachusetts stepped in and moved them to cape cod, where they are receiving more care. What massachusetts did NOT do is lie to them, ship them out of state, and make a political stunt out of their suffering.
50? How about hundreds of thousands? This is expected if it is not your house. Yes. The community of MV pressured the state to forcibly evict these children of God to a military compound where they are not free to travel and work where they please. Using your style of argument technique, this military confinement is good. Why not give them a cool million dollars? Why not? It always makes more sense to give a fish instead of give an opportunity. The facilities in the border states are overwhelmingly inadequate. Good jobs and housing are available in MV. Keep them in horrible, overcrowded community conditions down South. I love my neighbor, I forgive your sins, only I can evict them. As long as you have to deal with this, I am your only higher power and I will continue to tell you what you must do. Shame on everyone but me.
It’s so easy for leftists to virtue signal when the problem does not affect them personally. Apparently, the residents of Martha’s Vineyard don’t like the problems any more than the denizens of border states do.
As for the cost of shipping these illegal aliens up to Martha’s Vineyard, it is a worthwhile expense if it opens the eyes of elitist leftists to the consequences of the policies that they inflict on other people. If a few of them develop some empathy for those who have to deal with the multiple problems of allowing unchecked illegal incursions, then the money was well spent.
“Apparently, the residents of Martha’s Vineyard are not equipped to provide long-term care for 2 planeloads of people that were dropped off in their neighborhood unannounced.” There, I fixed that for ya.
I’m sure the migrants would have rather had the $12,000 transportation cost for EACH PERSON instead. If this is the new norm, if this is how southern states will be handling migrants from now on, and if this is the average cost, then why not just give them the money directly? They can use it to get an apartment, find a job, start paying taxes… doesn’t that make more sense? But it wouldn’t hurt them, which seems more important to conservatives. It’s like the classic quote from a supporter at a trump rally, “He’s not hurting the people he needs to be hurting.” (google it for the reference) It seems like hurting the right people is the only agenda… lock her up, rough him up (I’ll pay for the attorney), calling ted cruz’s wife ugly, the list goes on and on. It’s all hate and y’all love it. Very christian of you.
All praises to DeSantis and his extraordinary generosity. Spending all that money to bless these children of God with transportation to a verified sanctuary of immigration love and welcoming. What a classy move sending them to one of the most affluent areas in the country. Well done sir!
“All praises to DeSantis…” False idol worship = hell. Enjoy!
If desantis was willing to spend $12,000 per migrant, why not just give the cash to them? They could use it to get an apartment, find a job, start paying taxes… doesn’t that make more sense? Ahhh, but then you couldn’t use them for a political stunt. Don’t worry, massachusetts will take care of these people. Heck, send more of them north! We take care of people here. We follow the ACTUAL teachings of jesus: love your neighbor, love your enemy, forgive, repent, and take care of others. We don’t send people away.
Shame on you.
Now anyone or any action that is “praised” is committing a mortal sin and you are going to hell! Do you read your own words? I see I hit a burning, exposed nerve.
So, in your opinion, these migrants should be “free to travel and work where they please”? That’s an interesting take. Sounds like an open border policy. I thought for sure you’d be against that. I know I am.
I thought texas also had “Good jobs and housing”… isn’t that why so many people are moving there? That’s what I hear from the right wing talking heads. They say everyone is leaving places like california because of the low taxes and plentiful opportunities in texas. So why ship these people out? I didn’t realize there were such “horrible, overcrowded community conditions down South.” That sounds terrible, maybe you should move. The northern city I live in is beautiful, diverse, safe, and not horrible at all. We’d welcome you!
If we as a country now have $12,000 (the per capita cost to fly these people to MV) to spend for every illegal migrant that arrives here, then certainly there is a better solution to the problem. That’s the one thing I do not hear from right wingers, a solution. I heard about a big beautiful wall at one time, that mexico was going to pay for, but that never materialized. Got any ideas?
Hahaha! You have to admit the phrasing, “All praises to DeSantis” sounds a little strange, kind of worhsippy, and slightly blasphemous. You can praise people by saying “Good job” or whatever. “All praises” belong to god and jesus, not any man.
But you do you! Whatever the consequences…
Mr Biggs! If you must make up words and say they are mine or attempt to change the meaning of words to fit your points, I doubt you will convince me on all this. Anything else?
You said those things, not me. If you don’t like it, then say better things.
Yes, I have one more thing to say on the subject… anyone who supports treating human beings the way desantis did here is misguided and needs to learn empathy. If you believe in an afterlife, then best get good with your maker.
Proverbs 14:31
Whoever oppresses the poor taunts their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors Him.
Matthew 25:40
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, even these least, ye did it unto me.
