The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has come out publicly to accuse the Pentagon of espionage against his country after leaked classified documents were posted online which exposed information on the ongoing war in Ukraine as well as reports which showed the U.S. spying on its adversaries and allies.
The Washington Post obtained 300 photos of classified documents which were not made available to the public but reported that a U.S. military assessment referenced the Mexican armed forces and called into question whether the Mexican Army or Navy controlled the their airspace.
On Tuesday, López Obrador – or AMLO as many refer to him as - decided to increase security and safeguard measures to protect Mexican classified information from being spied upon, especially from the Biden regime.
"We’re going to take care of information from the Secretary of the Navy and the Secretary of Defense because we’re the object of espionage by the Pentagon,” the President said. He also believes that many members of media organizations in Mexico are "leaking information provided by the DEA.”
According to Reuters, AMLO referred to the classified document leak from the Biden administration as an “abusive, overbearing intrusion that should not be accepted under any circumstance.” He reiterated that he has no plans of any retaliation rather a renegotiation of “conditions for collaborative work.”
The Washington Posted reported that “there was no indication that the briefing item was derived from U.S. wiretaps or intercepts of Mexican authorities,” however AMLO has not been to fond of the Biden administration beforehand as the drug wars rage and Biden's lack of leadership to deal with the increasing illegal immigration crisis.
AMLO worked very well with Biden's predecessor, President Trump, and made it known that the arrest of the former President was a mockery of the American justice system.
“Supposedly legal issues should not be used for electoral, political purposes,” the Mexican President said. “That’s why I don’t agree with what they are doing to ex-President Trump.”
In response to the Mexican President's words, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, “We have engaged with our allies and partners since these leaks came out, and we have done so at high levels, and we have made clear our commitment to safeguarding intelligence and our commitment to our security partnerships. What I’ve heard so far at least is an appreciation for the steps that we’re taking, and it’s not affected our cooperation. I just haven’t seen that. I haven’t heard that."
