Americans can feel more secure at night thanks to the Trump administration's recent counterterrorism efforts, according to National Security Adviser Mike Waltz. The Washington Free Beacon reports, Waltz announced on Tuesday that U.S. operations under President Trump have eliminated 74 terrorist leaders from organizations with active plans to target the United States. The achievement is a far cry from the Biden administration's policies that emboldened terrorists rather than suppress their potential to strike.
“President Trump has eliminated 74 named terrorist leaders that the Biden administration wasn't going after," Waltz told Just the News. He highlighted that these actions include airstrikes and other targeted missions ordered since Trump’s return to the White House. Waltz emphasized that the targeted groups, including ISIS, al-Qaeda, and Al-Shabab, have all been plotting attacks against the United States and Western interests.
"I can tell you, from ISIS to al-Qaeda, to groups like Al-Shabab, all have plots and plans to hit the homeland once again," Waltz said. "And if you look under the Biden administration, with a wide-open border, that was incredibly dangerous.”
Just the News verified Waltz’s figures with military and intelligence officials.
This renewed campaign builds on Trump’s earlier counterterrorism policies, which notably included the 2020 airstrike that killed Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani. The current strategy marks a departure from the previous administration under President Biden, which did not clarify its stance on Soleimani’s killing and presided over record numbers of illegal border crossings, including individuals on the terrorist watchlist.
Waltz also pointed out that Trump has secured the release of 45 American hostages from hostile governments and terrorist organizations, calling it "an incredible achievement in just a couple of months."
Waltz told Americans that they should be able to rest easier now that President Trump is yielding results in his effort to make America a safer place.
"Americans should sleep better at night," Waltz said.
"We're only three months in, and look at the results President Trump is getting,” he added, pointing out the absurdity that the mainstream media does not “want to talk about” his achievements boosting America’s security.
