The Associated Foreign Press News Agency tweeted chilling videos originating from Ukraine as Russia moves in. Tuesday night @AFP wrote the following caption alongside the video of completely comber and empty streets in Khartsyzsk, Ukraine:

“VIDEO: Empty streets in eastern Ukraine. Loudspeakers announce the location of evacuation centres in the Ukrainian city of Khartsyzsk, after Russia’s President Vladimir Putin ordered troops into the self-proclaimed rebel republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.”

An additional tweet posted video where the sounds of bombing can be heard and clouds of smoke can be seen:

“VIDEO: Sound of bombing heard near Ukraine frontline. Shchastya is located between Kyiv-controlled territories and the self-proclaimed republic of Lugansk. Kyiv has warned Russia’s recognition of the breakaway regions heralds ‘further military aggression’ against Ukraine.”

In the minute-and-a-half video, captions on the first ten seconds read: “War is closing in on Ukrainians near the Russian border.”

A Ukrainian soldier is interviewed in the video, and the English translation reads: “The situation around Shchastya continues to remain tense. Since the start of the day, the enemy has fired several times at the settlement of Shchastya and its surroundings using weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.”
