The White House is pressuring Fox News to retract reports regarding the alleged Biden family corruption scandal after the FBI arrested a former informant, but Fox News is having none of it. The Spokesperson for the White House, Ian Sams, strongly demanded that Fox News retract the story regarding Alexander Smirnov's allegations against then-Vice President Biden who alleged that Joe Biden received foreign bribes from Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company of which Hunter Biden was a member of the board.  Despite Hunter Biden having no experience for a job of that magnitude and receiving massive monetary benefits, Fox News would not retract the allegations against the president. Special Counsel David Weiss arrested Smirnov last month but the arrest is conveniently timed as impeachment hearings against the president are ramping up, but Democrats are claiming this arrest clears the president of any wrongdoing.  Not so fast.
“I write to you about Fox News Channel and Fox News Digital coverage of the false, discredited ‘bribery’ allegation involving President Joe Biden, which Fox outlets have given significant coverage over the past year,” Ian Sams wrote in the letter sent to Fox News. “We feel strongly that all Fox News Digital articles on this topic should at a minimum be updated with editor’s notes informing readers that the source of this allegation has been federally indicted for making it up. We also feel strongly that Fox News Channel television personalities like Hannity and Watters, among others, should inform their viewers on air that they have been sharing a discredited allegation from a source who has been federally indicted for making it up,” the letter reads. However the letter doesn't describe specifics of what wrongdoing or falsehoods are being pushed by the network just that Smirnov has been discredited because of his arrest, but no trial. “Fox News Media has reported on all key developments since the announcement that Alexander Smirnov was charged with lying to the FBI, featuring the story prominently,” said a spokesperson for Fox. “We will continue to report on developments in all aspects of the ongoing investigations, hearings, and trials.“
