During a congressional hearing Wednesday where representatives were discussing whether or not to hold the President’s son, Hunter Biden, in contempt of court over his refusal to comply with a subpoena to appear for a deposition in December, the man of the hour made an appearance.

National Review reports that Republican Representative Nancy Mace from South Carolina “laid into” the first son after opening statements were given by Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and ranking Democrat Jamie Raskin.

“My first question is who bribed Hunter Biden to be here today? That’s my first question. Second question, you are the epitome of white privilege. Coming into the Oversight Committee, spitting in our face, ignoring a congressional subpoena to be deposed. What are you afraid of? You have no balls.”

Mace was then interrupted with a chorus of interjections, to which Mace asked: “Are women allowed to speak in here?” Mace continued: “I think that Hunter Biden should be arrested right here, right now, and go straight to jail. Our nation is founded on the rule of the law, and the premise that the law applies equally to everyone, no matter what your last name is.”

Hunter Biden refused to appear for the closed-door deposition to answer questions about his alleged overseas influence-peddling operation on Capitol Hill on December 13. Instead, he held a public press conference on the buildings steps that day.

The Oversight Committee gathered January 10 to discuss whether Hunter’s refusal to attend the December deposition falls under contempt of Congress. National Review notes that those convicted of criminal contempt of Congress can be sentenced with “a fine of up to $100,000 and imprisonment “for not less than one month nor more than twelve months.”

Hunter currently faces nine federal tax charges, three of which are felonies related to his alleged failure to pay over $1 million worth of taxes. Biden also faces three federal gun charges in Delaware, to which he pleaded not guilty in October. Hunter Biden’s arraignment in is scheduled to take place on January 11 in California.

National Review’s report states Hunter abruptly left the hearing a few minutes later, just as Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene was recognized to speak.
