The White House faced a growing backlash on Twitter Friday after the administration falsely claimed no Covid vaccine was available prior to Joe Biden’s term in the Oval Office.

“When President Biden took office, millions were unemployed and there was no vaccine available. In the last 15 months, the economy has created 8.3M jobs and the unemployment rate stands at 3.6% — the fastest decline in unemployment to start a President’s term ever recorded,” the White House’s verified Twitter account wrote.

The Covid Vaccine was available to some segments of the population before Biden’s Inauguration on January 20th, 2021.

Users pointed to another tweet from the White House showing then President-Elect Biden receiving his second vaccination on January 13th, 2021, a week before he was sworn into office.

“President-elect Biden received his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine because he trusts scientists. Our administration is committed to doing everything possible to ensure every American has all the information they need to get vaccinated,” claimed the White House.
