Title 42 was enacted by Donald Trump in March 2020 to prevent the spread of COVID-19 into the US from Central American migrants.
βThe U.S. soldiers would come from a variety ofΒ active duty Army unitsΒ and would serve in mostly administrative and transport roles to free up law enforcement and Border Patrol, according to two senior U.S. officials familiar with the deliberations,β reports Fox News.

βOfficials said the troop deployment would be similar to deployments to the borderΒ ordered by former President Donald Trump.Β The troops would be armed for self-defense but would not assist with law enforcement,β adds Fox.
This is a developing story.
