The Center for Diseases Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky said that once again, definitions are changing. In a perfectly bureaucratic way, Walensky said her agency is working to “pivot the language” around who qualifies as fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Also Friday, a federal judge in Texas ruled President Joe Biden could not require federal employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and blocked the government from disciplining employees who failed to comply.

The Supreme Court temporarily suspended the Biden administration’s vaccine-or-test mandate for large employers last week. The court did allow the vaccine mandate to go into effect for healthcare workers at facilities that receive federal funding.

Getting a vaccine may not matter unless the CDC determines you have been a good boy or girl and are “up-to-date” with vaccine shots, as one “should be.” Walensky said, “what we really are working to do is pivot the language to make sure that everybody is as up to date with their Covid-19 vaccine as they personally could be, should be, based on when they go their last vaccine.”

“We really want to make sure people are up-to-date,” she added. “That means if you recently got your second dose, you’re not eligible for a booster, you’re up-to-date. If you are eligible for a booster and you haven’t gotten it, you’re not up-to-date and you need to get your booster in order to be up-to-date.”

President Biden dodged a question earlier this week about why the White House has not changed the definition of “fully vaccinated” to include the booster shots. The insinuation from the reporter was that the administration did not change the definition so that the number of “fully-vaccinated Americans” would not be lower, and “suddenly look a lot less impressive” write National Review.

Biden said that was not the reason, and responded “the answer is yes, get the booster shot it’s all part of the same thing. You’re better protected.”
