On Monday, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) decided to cancel his planned trip to the southern border which was to take place so he could see first hand how the major surge of migrants was affecting the local communities.

The Mayor decided to send an aide instead of visiting because he needed to “address the immediate urgency of adding shelter space to house thousands of new arrivals currently sleeping in police stations, airports or outside.”

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has done everything in his power to stop illegal immigration at the southern border and the smartest thing he did was bussing migrants to Democrat run cities.  Why should Texas or any border state be solely responsible for caring for the massive influx of migrants because of bad Democrat policies? It was because the Texas Governor bussed thousands of migrants throughout the country that Democrat-run cities can feel the burden that Texas has known for decades.
Chicago has reportedly received 18,500 illegal migrants or “asylum-seekers” from the southern border states and finally acknowledges the crisis before them as thousands of migrants sleep in police stations and airports. According to the Chicago Mayor’s chief of staff, the criticized trip was cancelled because the mayor needed to focus on where the migrants will be housed before the winter season begins.

“The fact that we don’t have any beds coming online in mass quantity, and people are literally being sent to sleep outside,” the chief of staff said. “And he needs to stay back, closely monitor, and try to solve for this issue of not having enough shelter and people going straight to the ground.  We want to try to see what kind of contingency plan we can put in place while we’re waiting for our brick-and-mortars and also the evaluation of land in terms of the base camps.”

At first the Chicago Mayor was happy to help the “asylum seekers” but after just a small sampling of what the border states feel, it’s become a major crisis.

“You know, this is a global crisis. The policies that are impacting population-ships across the globe is affecting us all,” Johnson said trying to defend his overall migrant policies. “These are asylum seekers. These are not illegal people. The moment they step ground on American soil, they are officially protected by international law.”
