A troubled anti-ICE activist at a Minnesota dog kennel triggered attention after scribbling an anti-immigration enforcement message on the feeding chart for a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) K-9, the New York Post reports. The incident drew a sharp reaction from the Department of Homeland Security, which shared a post noting that the worker had written “ICE OUT” at the top of an official feeding chart in a childlike handwriting.
“THEY’RE EVEN GOING AFTER THE DOGS!” the DHS wrote in a post on X.
THEY’RE EVEN GOING AFTER THE DOGS!

“In Minneapolis, anti-ICE agitators are targeting our CBP K-9s, including K-9 Dina, pictured here,” the agency continued, sharing a photo of the German Shepherd as well. The kennel’s name was not disclosed, but comments on the DHS post criticized the act as childish and inappropriate. One commenter urged naming the kennel so it could face consequences, while another described the act as “unhinged.” A third dog enthusiast suggested that K-9s ought to be afforded protected status.
According to The Post, the vandalism of the feeding chart comes amid rising tension between anti-ICE protesters and immigration authorities, who have reported the arrests of more than 3,000 individuals with criminal backgrounds in the Twin Cities over the past six weeks, including people charged with serious offenses, including murderers, rapists and child molesters.
The incident underscores how polarized debates over immigration policy can spill into unpredictable acts of vandalism that target both people and symbols of state enforcement, even when the victims are not directly involved in policy decisions. As DHS and others condemn the act as childish and inappropriate, the episode highlights the broader tension between protest movements and law enforcement efforts in which the former undermines the critical work being done to make American communities safer.
