California Democrat Ro Khanna is now calling for the resignation of Senator Dianne Feinstein, saying it’s time to put “country ahead of personal loyalty.”

“We need to put the country ahead of personal loyalty,” Khanna said. “While she has had a lifetime of public service, it is obvious she can no longer fulfill her duties. Not speaking out undermines our credibility as elected representatives of the people.”

 

Feinstein, the oldest member of the Senate at 89-years-old, has been absent for months after being hospitalized for shingles in early March.

Her office released statement this week, asking Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to replace her position on the Judiciary Committee while she recovers in the hospital.

I’ve asked Leader Schumer to ask the Senate to allow another Democratic senator to temporarily serve until I’m able to resume my committee work,” Feinstein said.
