Former Big Apple Mayor Bill de Blasio resurfaced on social media this week, demanding Congress must laws to limit the “spread of hate” on prominent platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
Americans are dying because companies like @Facebook @Twitch & @Twitter refuse to stop profiting off hate. They give murderers like the one in Buffalo a platform to weaponize racist ideology. It is past time for Congress to pass a #DigitalServicesAct & reign in the spread of hate https://t.co/qZf9IHJISy

“Americans are dying because companies like @Facebook @Twitch & @Twitter refuse to stop profiting off hate. They give murderers like the one in Buffalo a platform to weaponize racist ideology. It is past time for Congress to pass a #DigitalServicesAct & reign [sic] in the spread of hate,” posted de Blasio.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul echoed the Democrat’s comments just hours after a gunman opened fire in a supermarket in Buffalo, New York.
“This spreads like a virus,” claimed Hochul.
