Hurricane Ian smashed into the west coast of Florida Wednesday with sustained winds of 155 miles per hour and a storm surge of 18 feet.
Ian is now located about 45 miles west-northwest of Naples, Florida.
“And, we understand this is not just a 48 hour ordeal. This is going to be something that is going to be there for days and weeks and months. And, unfortunately, in some circumstances, even years,” said Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
“I made it clear to governor and the mayors that the federal government is ready to help in every single way possible,” added President Biden from the White House.
