Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen concocted a new argument in favor of abortion this week, telling lawmakers overturning Roe V Wade would have a “damaging effect on the economy.”
“The ability to have full control over reproductive health has real-world economic consequences,” claimed Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez. “Secretary Yellen, if the draft of the court’s majority holds, what impact would the loss of abortion access mean?”
“The right of women to make decisions about when and whether to have children would have very damaging effects on the economy and would set women back decades. Roe V Wade helped lead to increased labor force participation. It enabled many women to finish school,” explained Yellen.
“It allowed women to plan their families and careers!” she added.

Whatever happened to birth control and abstinence? How is it that getting an abortion has become the go-to population control?
At no place in the draft did it say to prevent abortion! What It did say was it would let the decision rest in the hands of the states and their people, as specifically called for in the 10th Amendment.
You’re right, liberals use logic. You should try it sometime.
There were 600,000+ abortions in 2019 in the United States, per the CDC. What would happen if even half of these abortions didn’t take place? Women’s’ workforce participation could decrease, as single mothers would have a more difficult time obtaining or retaining employment. More families will require SNAP benefits. Government will need to invest more in foster and adoption services. This means more of a tax burden on the public. How is this even debatable?
I hope y’all are willing to vote for more social programs to support these families! Have a wonderful day 🙂
So according to this thought process, killing people helps the economy? Just because it might inconvenience some women while the kids grow, we should just kill them? What’s next? Crippled people? Old people? Just thought process is sick.
