According to the New York Post, Waters was cornered by a TMZ producer outside the Capitol and couldn’t give a simple yes or no answer to basic questions about age and fitness for office.
Instead of addressing legitimate concerns about aging politicians, Waters retreated to the tired Democratic talking point that voters should judge by “performance and effectiveness.” That’s rich coming from someone who has spent decades in Congress with little to show for it except inflammatory rhetoric and grandstanding. When pressed specifically about whether a centenarian should hold office, Waters again punted to voters while refusing to acknowledge the obvious physical and mental demands of governing.
But here’s where it gets really telling. The moment Trump’s name came up, Waters went completely off the rails. She accused the President of “destroying our democracy” and “enriching himself and his family with cryptocurrency” – baseless claims that have been thoroughly debunked. This is the same Maxine Waters who has called for harassment of Trump officials and spent years pushing the Russia collusion hoax. Her credibility on anything Trump-related is absolutely zero.
Waters even claimed people are having “buyer’s remorse” about Trump, citing mysterious polls that apparently only she can see. The reality is that President Trump won a decisive victory because Americans rejected the failed policies of the Biden-Harris administration. Waters and her fellow Democrats are still living in denial about their crushing defeat, preferring conspiracy theories to honest self-reflection about why voters chose Trump’s strong leadership over their radical agenda.
