The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued a warning regarding a disturbing trend of migrant activists increasingly using cars and pickup trucks to ram into federal vehicles operated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers, Breitbart reports. According to DHS, this surge in vehicular attacks is fueled by hostile rhetoric coming from sanctuary city politicians, left-leaning activists, and mainstream media outlets.

In 2025 alone, nearly 100 such attacks have been reported, posing significant danger to both law enforcement officers and civilians who may inadvertently be caught in the incidents. Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin of DHS condemned the attacks, emphasizing that the department’s law enforcement personnel remain steadfast in their mission to arrest dangerous criminal illegal aliens despite these threats.

Statistics from the DHS reveal a sharp rise in these attacks compared to the previous year: since January 20, there have been 71 vehicular assaults against CBP members—a 58% increase—and 28 against ICE agents, representing a stunning 1,300% increase.

The attacks vary in severity, ranging from minor damages such as dents and broken windows to complete destruction of federal vehicles. Among several organized groups involved is one from Chicago known as the “Chicago Rammers,” reportedly led by Latin Kings gang member Ricardo Flores, nicknamed Ricky D’Gucci. This group has openly shared videos of their vehicle attacks on social media.

A recent incident in early November saw CBP agents responding with gunfire after their vehicle was rammed and bricks were thrown during their duties in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood.

DHS reiterated that those who assault law enforcement officers, particularly using vehicles as weapons, will face the full force of prosecution as the department continues its enforcement efforts amid increasingly dangerous conditions.
