California Representative Nancy Pelosi criticized President Donald Trump in a CNN interview on Monday, describing him as a “vile creature” and “the worst thing on the face of the Earth.” According to Breitbart, Pelosi expressed deep disdain for Trump, accusing him of disrespecting the U.S. Constitution, turning the Supreme Court into a “rogue court,” abolishing the House of Representatives, and intimidating legal residents and the press. When asked by CNN’s Elex Michaelson if she truly believed Trump was the worst thing on Earth, Pelosi affirmed her statement emphatically.
“He’s just a vile creature,” Pelosi said. “The worst thing on the face of the Earth. But anyway.”
Reporter Elex Michaelson asked, “You think he‘s the worst thing on the face of the Earth?”
Pelosi firmly replied, “I do, yeah. I do.”
Pelosi’s remarks highlight that the divisive rhetoric condemned after recent political violence continues to persist.
Pelosi also addressed ongoing speculation about her future in Congress, suggesting she may decide whether to run again after the outcome of California’s Proposition 50 election. Pelosi conveyed confidence about winning if she chooses to run again, mentioning the support she receives from constituents who contact her during the speculation about her plans.
“Well, first of all, when people start, as in the press, speculating, is she going to run? Is she not going to run? Other people file or say they‘re going to run, you know what that does? That gives me so much support. People calling me saying, I‘m for you,” Pelosi said.
