A series of September offensives from Ukrainian forces is now recapturing vast sections of the country from the Russian Military, a move experts are declaring a “public humiliation” for Vladimir Putin.
“Ukrainian troops piled pressure on retreating Russian forces Tuesday, pressing a counteroffensive that has produced major gains and a stunning blow to Moscow’s military prestige. As the advance continued, Ukraine’s border guard services said the army took control of Vovchansk — a town just 3 kilometers (2 miles) from Russia seized on the first day of the war. Russia acknowledged that it has withdrawn troops from areas in the northeastern region of Kharkiv in recent days,” reports the Associated Press.
“Russians use you as cannon fodder. Your life doesn’t mean anything for them. You don’t need this war. Surrender to Armed Forces of Ukraine,” flyers dispersed among Russian troops read.

An elderly woman freezes when she sees a soldier by her house as she thinks he’s from the Russian Army.
The Ukrainian soldier says “it’s our guys coming” and she gives him a long hug.
