A senior Hamas official admitted what the GOP and pro-Israel leaders have been saying which is that it quite literally pays for Iran and terrorist organizations to take Americans hostage. Senior Hamas spokesman Ali Baraka said Sunday in an interview translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute "There are Hamas members sentenced for life in the U.S. We want them too. Of course…We demand that the U.S. free our sons from prison. The U.S. conducts prisoner swaps. Only recently, it did one with Iran. Why wouldn't it conduct a prisoner swap with us?"

Official numbers continue to rise but at least 27 Americans have been confirmed dead in the deadly attacks on Israel over the weekend, approximately 17 Americans are still missing and 11 are believed to have been taken hostage.

The comments by the Hamas leader come just weeks after the Biden administration approved a prisoner swap with Iran, in which the president sent five Iranian prisoners and approved the release of $6 billion of the regime's funds in exchange for the release of five U.S. citizens held hostage in Iran.

If the United States was willing to allow a payday of $6 billion to the tyrannical state of Iran, certainly Hamas could see dollar signs in their eyes when attacking Israel. Baraka's comments, which he made on an Arabic language channel of Russian state-owned news outlet Russia Today, came the day after Hamas terrorists entered southern Israel, killing hundreds of civilians. The terrorists took hostages from the Israeli towns they raided.
