President Joe Biden faces backlash from his comments where he proclaimed Trump supporters are “garbage” and according to RealClearPolitics founder Tom Bevan, Biden’s rhetoric couldn’t come at a worse time for Vice President Kamala Harris.
During a Zoom call with the Voto Latino organization, President Biden called supporters of the former president “garbage” responding to comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s remark about Puerto Rico where he said it’s a “floating island of garbage” during Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden. RealClearPolitics founder believes that the remarks from Biden couldn’t come at a worse time for Harris because it only “alienates” swing-state voters who have now been accused of being “garbage” and “Nazis.”
“It’s obviously not great for the Harris campaign,” Tom Bevan told Fox New’s American Newsroom. “Just as Trump battled a couple of days of bad news cycles and this couldn’t have come at a worse time. I mean, it happened while she was speaking, while she was giving her closing argument this entire thing blew up, which begs the question of what was Joe Biden even doing on a Zoom call at that point in time and again, it reinforces this notion, and we’ve seen these comments, Hillary Clinton’s ‘deplorables’ in 2016, President Obama cleaning the guns in 2012 [or] 2008, whenever that was. And it reinforces the idea that Democrats, while they spent a couple of days calling Trump supporters Nazis for being at this rally, that they’re alienating voters that they’re gonna need in these swing states here in the final week.”
WATCH:
Vice President Harris gave her closing argument speech at the National Mall calling Trump “unhinged” and would act as a”fascist.” Democrats continue to ratchet up the hateful rhetoric, continuing to equate former President Trump to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and compared his large Madison Square Garden rally to the 1939 Nazi rally.
Democrats continue to fear monger but American’s don’t respond well to being called “garbage” or “Nazi’s” and Hillary Clinton’s 2016 losing campaign for president where she called half of all Trump supporters coming from a “basket of deplorables” only proves that point.
