During a press conference on Monday, Five House Republicans unveiled their plan for a national “election integrity” bill called the American Confidence in Elections (ACE) Act, warning of possible Democrat deception involved in elections.

All of the five House Republicans sit on the Committee on House Administration (CHA) and claim that the bill aims to protect election integrity so that Americans can have full confidence in the results of all elections, which Democrats countered that this bill is only a response to what President Trump claimed happened to him in 2020.

In the proposed bill, a photo ID would be required in order to vote in any federal election, would not allow any non-citizen from voting, proposed regular annual maintenance of all voter rolls, and would prevent the mailing of ballots to those who did not request one.

The Committee Chaiman, Rep. Bryan Steil (R-Wisc.), insists that the ACE Act will allow American to easily “vote and hard to cheat,” and states would also receive federal resources to help purge the voter roles of those who have passed away.

“It should be this simple,” Steil said. The proposed legislation is “commonsense legislation” and “a rational approach that Americans can get behind.”

“This legislation is the most substantive and conservative election integrity legislation that will come before the House in over a generation,” Steil announced.

According to a Fox News report, “The committee stressed the significance for the roll-out of the new bill to be in Georgia because of the vast damage the state endured following the backlash to its bill. The damage included the MLB moving the All-Star game from Atlanta, which resulted in what some estimates said was a more than $100 million hit to the local economy.”

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Steil said Republicans expected pushback from Democrats but the “voter suppression” narrative they like to insist occurs was actually debunked in Georgia after the new voter law was passed when the state saw record turnout to the polls.

“Rest assured, the left is going to attack this legislation. It’s one of the reasons I think it’s important that we’re here in Georgia because we saw the left’s false attacks against voter integrity legislation previously,” he claimed.

“I have no doubt that the left is going to attempt to attack, to mislead, to disguise the work that we’re doing. It’s all the more important that we’re here in the open holding hearings, not just in Washington, DC, but here in Atlanta, Georgia, and across the country, so people have the opportunity to read, to review the legislation.”
