Former President Donald Trump made a series of posts on Truth Social informing his followers that he has been indicted on seven criminal charges regarding the hundreds of classified documents he had in his possession upon leaving the White House.
In the posts, Trump said he has been summoned to federal court in Miami and must appear this upcoming Tuesday.
The former President has now been criminally charged twice in the past few months as NBC News has also confirmed. Currently, the indictments against Trump are not available to the public and are sealed for the time being.
In March, Trump was indicted by a grand jury in New York which claim he falsified business records in connection to a hush money payment sent to a porn star in 2016. Trump is now the only former U.S. President in history to be indicted on criminal charges.
Trump took to Truth Social to post a video where he called the new charges “election interference at the highest level.” He also wrote “I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States.”
“I AM AN INNOCENT MAN! This is indeed a DARK DAY for the United States of America,” he continued.
For the past year, Trump has been investigated by federal agents regarding his handling of classified government records and is accused of stonewalling. Seemingly it was at this point where federal agents raided his home in Mar-a-Lago in an attempt to recover the records. Reports have shown that the agents did recover hundreds of documents that were marked as classified in his Mar-a-Lago home.
Trump again took to social media to explain, “The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my attorneys that I have been Indicted, seemingly over the Boxes Hoax, even though Joe Biden has 1850 Boxes at the University of Delaware, additional Boxes in Chinatown, D.C., with even more Boxes at the University of Pennsylvania, and documents strewn all over his garage floor where he parks his Corvette, and which is “secured” by only a garage door that is paper thin, and open much of the time.”
“I have been summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3 PM,” Trump added. “We are a Country in serious and rapid Decline, but together we will Make America Great Again!”
