“Historically, the Senate would take sixty days to elect a leader. We’ve spoken about this in conference,” explained Johnson. “We did agree that we wanted to elect a leader before Thanksgiving.”
“This was just sprung on us right before we left town. I wasn’t happy about that. But, we had an excellent discussion with our conference. We’re unified to implement President Trump’s agenda,” he added.
