Florida Sheriff Grady Judd spoke with Joe ‘Pags’ Pagliarulo Thursday to discuss the nation’s crime crisis and what local officials can do to stop the chaos.

“We have a forgiving criminal justice system. Some folks are supposed to be forgiven for some crimes. I get that. 96 out of 100 who are arrested will get a diversion, probation, will get something other than a prison sentence,” explained Judd.

“How much more forgiving can we be?” he asked. “The reality is that probation is a gift. If you violate it, you go to jail. We have to draw the line.”

“In Florida, we hold criminals responsible and accountable for their conduct. California and New York care more about criminals than their hard-working citizens,” he added.
