Dade Phelan is the Speaker of the Texas House and he’s got ridiculous relationships with Democrats in the House and is getting campaign funds from odd sources.

David Covey is running to unseat him in his district.

“Texas is a solidly red state. It doesn’t make sense for us to elect Republicans and then we give power away by appointing Democrats to important committees,” explained Covey.

“If we’re going to elect Republicans, they have to govern like Republicans. That’s how we move our conservative agenda forward,” he added.
